Wrinkles are a part of ageing and can be heightened by exposure to the sun, excessive stress, diet, and weight loss. Non-surgical facial treatments can help remove these lines and give you a more youthful and radiant look.

The treatment of lines and wrinkles

After a consultation with our principal dentist, we offer a treatment that works on dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement by temporarily paralyzing freezing muscles, and slowing down the progression of wrinkles. A purified protein is inserted to prevent various facial muscles from contracting and stop the skin from creasing. The commonly treated areas are the upper part of the face such as crow’s feet, lines between your eyebrows and forehead lines.

Treatment takes around 10-15 minutes and effects will show after 1-2 weeks.

Studies show that keeping wrinkles away is possible and in some cases, they can be completely eliminated but must be recognised at the earliest sign of them appearing. It is important to be proactive when looking after your skin, as it can help it to look and feel healthier as you go through the later years of your life.

Juvéderm® ULTRA, Dermal Fillers Durham

Dermal Fillers are injections that add volume to lines and wrinkles, sunken cheeks and weak chins; also used to reshape noses or lips. Fillers plump up the skin, smoothing out any lines and wrinkles.

In our practice, we use Juvéderm® ULTRA Dermal Fillers which can be used to contour the cheeks and chin, correct acne or chickenpox scars, and fill deep lines. They can also restore a more youthful look to lips that have become thinner and lost there definition.

A numbing cream is applied and tiny amounts of a bio-degradable gel filler are injected with a very fine needle into the areas requiring treatment.

You may wish to revisit the practice to get top-ups for your facial aesthetics to maintain your desired look after 6-12 months.
